About Carly

Hello! My name’s Carly and I’m a television news anchor, reporter, producer and photographer who also happened to be born with a short leg. I had one surgery to correct the discrepancy in 1996 when I was just 11 and went through a second procedure in 2012 when I was 27.

I decided to blog about this unique experience. Thanks for being interested!

I’ve been blogging since March of 2012. Click the link below to read my first entry:

  1. Flynn,
I work with your mom, and today one of the other ladies here sent me your blog to read. First of all I wanted to say thank you for sharing your amazing story . One of my hobbies (weird-yes) is healthcare. I thoroughly understood and enjoyed learning about your journey. You are a great writer (Of course!). Secondly I admire your courage not only to have this second procedure but to share it with all of us. It was motivational to read where you are drawing your strength from, and educational as you explained the time line showing us your your x-rays, and pictures. Lastly I want to enter in with my piece of encourgement. I have had two knee repalcements over the years so I do understand the committment to recovery. As I am writing this you are in surgery right now. We prayed together today for you, and you will remain in my private prayers as well. Work hard, depend on those who love you, go ahead and cry, and I hope to see you once you get back home.

  2. Just read your inspiring story after noticing you were back on the air. We all have our struggles however it’s how we choose to deal with life’s challenges that truly makes us who we are. Best of luck on the remainder of your recovery. Michael

  3. Carly, my husband and I are fans and watch you every night on Fox news. I wanted to say thank you for sharing your story with everyone. I have a niece who was born with one leg shorter than the other and I was telling her your story and she would like to get information about the procedure and who was the surgeon who performed it. I do not know how it was when you grew up for she is a few years younger but kids in her school looked at her as though she had 3 legs. Can you please send me the information? My email is plunketts6687@yahoo.com.
